random talent

Out of the blue today, I wanted to listen to some Ennio Morricone.

It reminded me of Korean child prodigy Sungha Jung's version of Cinema Paradiso. While searching for it, I noticed that his Mission Impossible theme already had 11.8 million hits.

This kid is so super talented. He's getting older now. Obviously, he started as a classical guitarist, but who knows where he'll end up? At the very least, he could become the Kenny G or the Tadao Hayashi of Guitar. Or will he get his break as a composer of classical music?

Classical music (and classical musicians) didn't end with Mozart. The new stuff is called "New Instrumental Music" or "Neo-classical". Last month, Secret Garden was playing on the iPod in my private therapy room at Terra Spa, Discovery Suites.

Bunny Rabbit thinks they're depressing, but I like.

Sting's concert in Berlin with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has been playing over and over on TV recently. I love this bit where he tells the story of how he wrote Tomorrow We'll See.

I've been scouring Limewire the CD stores for Whenever I Say Your Name, his duet with Mary J. Blige. But Jo Lawry did such a great job in Berlin. Her voice gave me goosebumps.

When I turned on the TV, the American Idol finale show was on. We just caught the Tim McGraw and Scotty McCreery duet. My immediate thought was, "Cowboys shouldn't do duets, especially if one of them is wearing a skin-tight V-neck and jeans with a ginormous shiny belt buckle."

After about a minute, Bunny Rabbit muttered, "Brokeback."

I answered, "No, it's half of Village People."
