beautiful day

Yesterday, we attended the christening of our friends' bouncing baby boy, Aidan. After the church ceremony, we were whisked off to a secret hideaway on the "other side" of Boracay.

Our group was composed of Boracay locals, foreigners who have been residing on the island for many years now, and some guests from Manila. This is one of the things that makes our island very special: A happy mix.

One of our Swiss friends said, "Many Filipinos go to Switzerland and stay for five or six years, and they can get a Swiss passport. I've stayed here for 12 years and I asked them (the immigration authorities). But they don't like to give me. I don't know why."

Isn't it nice that he would actually WANT to acquire Filipino citizenship?

While we were having lunch, someone raised the question, "If a man from Germany is a German, what do you call a woman?"

Answer: "A Gerwoman."

Whereupon the lone German guy in our party said, "Why are Filipinos always laughing even when something's not very funny?"

Answer: "Because you're German."
